Another Word Thought...
I often find myself looking at words or sayings and asking things like "where did that come from" or "what does that really mean?" Today I typed my status into Facebook "...is finding Friday to his liking."
What does it mean to find something to your liking? The image that came to me was one of taking the something (in this case Friday) by the hand and walking it over to wherever my "liking" was - and helping them "find" or get to know each other.
Could that be where the saying originated?

No idea at all where it came from, but I love the imagery you shared. Thanks for the giggle!
aaah, so that's how you do it, hee heee heeeee. and have you ever looked at a word, like your name, which you've read and said and written many times, and then all of a sudden it becomes the weirdest looking word?!?!?!
Hi Kim. Dropped by from Tanya's to introduce myself and say how pleased I am to bump into someone who so fundamentally gets the power-of-words ethos.
I write for a living, so anytime I cross paths with folks who express this as eloquently as you, I get jazzed.
Nice to e-meet you. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work!
Melody - you laughing at me, again? I hope so!
Shadow - Welcome back. I do that all of the time, I must admit (see! "admit" is one of those words that looks strange)
Carmi - Welcome. Our paths have crossed in the blogsphere before, but I was someone else then. :) I thak you for your kind words!
It's great and scary that you have or had an unknown identity on the Internet...Perhaps no one truly knows Each and every layer of your being.. :/ this has me pondering
Clever...
Reply to Shadow's comment. The most common words that frequently get me into a "what's-this-weird-word" mood are "get" and "put" :) Sometimes I look at "get" and think "how do I pronounce it? 'get', 'jet' or something else?"
Walking Friday over to where your Liking was - what a beautiful thought! I already imagined a garden where a lot of folks were hanging around, one of them is your Liking, and they are all smiling when Friday comes along :-)
Have a great day!
Had you never found Friday before? Have any of the other days eluded you as well? LOL
Of course, Robinson Crusoe "finding Friday to his liking" is an entirely different matter.
Cheeky you!
